Can Age of Empires 2 run on XP??

i know it's an ancient game but i was wondering if you need a patch or sumthing to run it...

it was running fine until the 3rd time i started it then it just wouldn't work after that...

First, who cares if its ancient that game is pretty much awesome

second i believe it works on XP so go play it

I'm guessing that it could be a video driver issue? You might lower the color depth, it worked for fallout in Vista.

Have you tried compatibility mode?

If you get desperate you could also try virtualbox or virtual PC... Although, I know virtualbox does not support 3d acceraltion. I don't know if virtual PC does or not. If it worked in DOS you could also try dosbox.

it does work on XP, i got windows XP home edition and it works great!
