Does this PC need a monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, etc. or do you already have those?

8800GS or HD3850 graphics card will run you around $170-$190

2x1GB DDR2 800 RAM: $40-$60

250-500GB hard drive: $60-$110

SATA DVD RW drive: $30-$40

Case of your choice: $50-$120

Decent P35 motherboard: $90-$120

Intel Core 2 Duo E6750: $190

Even with the upper end on all those parts, you're just $30 or so over budget, and you can cut back to a cheaper case, memory, hard drive, etc.

Wouldn't have posted them if they weren't compatible. Don't worry about PCI-e 2.0, it is backwards-compatible with PCI-e x16.
