Can Games for Windows Live software be downloaded on it's own?

I'd rather not have to go into the game first to log into games for windows live. Is there any way I can download the software separately to sign into it instead of going into the game first?

I don't think so as I have Quantum of solace and it's a pain signing in and signing out all the time. I think the seperate software is only on xbox 360's

There is no standalone client for GfWL. There is for GameRanger, of course. :)

Ahh, I wasn't aware of that, thanks. I know they talked about doing this, but they mustn't have made a very big announcement about its release. I've just read some more about it though. It's basically a download portal. There's no friends list or messaging of any kind. Kind of pointless, imho.
