I mean.. install every single component in a new Cabinet. (already have everything, just changing my Case & getting a Coolermaster Elite 430W side window Cabinet in a day or two) So I was thinking if I can do it myself without any hassles ? Is assembling a PC from scratch difficult ? or should I give it a try. I have never done it before. I only disassembled & installed my Mainboard twice in my previous PC setup as I needed to give for repairs.

Current Specs are:

AMD Phenom II X4 Black Edition 965, 3400 MHz

MSI 880GMA-E45 (Micro ATX)

Corsair 4GB RAM

SAMSUNG 500 GB SATA-II

Seagate 160 GBUltra-ATA

SAMSUNG 22X DVRW

NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 (512 MB)

CoolerMaster eXtreme Power Plus 500W

Other than this I recently bought a CM ThermalFusion 400 Thermal Paste & CM Hyper N520 CPU Cooler which I must install in the new CM case (my current case doesn't have enough space for it) & to me it seems like installing this CM N520 isn't gonna be easy at all.. or is it ? ( I know how to apply Thermal that as few days ago someone here provided me a video tutorial for it, thanks mate)

If I really do it, what problems may I face during this whole installation? also what precautions should I be taking. I'm mostly concerned about puting that CM N520 in it's place correctly. & One more thing, how do I make sure that I connect the wires coming out of those Power/Reset/USB/LED in the Front of the Case to correct places on the Mainboard. What if I mistakenly connect the wrong ones ?

appreciate if you're here to help, Thanks! ^^

if you have a higher iq than forrest gump and you have an attention span longer than 7 seconds you should be able to do it. Especially since you already replaced the mainboard. The most important thing is when you have to replace the cpu or mainboard, don't plie or break the pins from your cpu. If you connect the cables wrong from power/ led etc , you can't do anything wrong with that, it simply won't work. I won't shortcut or anything. Mounting a cooler is easy when the cooler fits the socket on your board. If you don't damage chips , capacitators or other stuff on the board everything is going to be ok.. I've repaired hunderds of pc's in my lifetime and the only ones i broke are with a faulty psu (1 time) (i couldn't have known that) and breaking the cpu's pins (1 time) (that was just plain incompentce on my part due to a hangover). I see.. I asked about this as I once connected my Power or Reset cable wrong in my previous Mainboard & as I remember, my PC stopped working right after that. Anyways, How do I know I connect the Power/Reset/Led to the right slots in first attempt only ? Thanks for your help

i don't think that will be the reason your mainboard didn't work anymore. All those cables do isconnecting two pins. So when you press the power or reset button two pins get connected. So if you connect your reset cable to the power pins your pc will power on when you press the reset button. Same with led, if you connect a led cable to the power pins the led will simply not lit up and the current of the led is too little to damage the circuit to your power button.

There are still some other pins on the board but i can't see how you could damage your board connecting them, especially when the power isn't on. Some other pins are for bios reset and audio, can't see how you could damage your board connecting them even with the power on.

How you should connect the cables from the power/reset button and leds you can find in the manual of your motherboard. If you can't find the manual you should be able to find it online on the manufacturer site. If you have trouble finding it , i can always search it for you if you just give me the model of your motherboard. The model/type should be written down on the motherboard itself somewhere between the card slots. Greetz

As long as you can follow instruction such as red plug in red socket. The fiddlyest bit generally is mounting the CPU cooler.

I'm 15 and I did it without a problem. I replaced a PSU and installed a graphics card when I was 12 and added RAM when I was like 10. It isn't hard, it just takes common sense and you just have to be careful.

Well i installed almost a whole system using a bayonet so if you can understand a screw and use a screwdriver without hospital treatment afterwards then i'd say you can build a PC, it has never meant to be a difficult thing it's not like you can plug something into the wrong socket without realising you are doing it wrong. Plus if you have difficulty which is probably going to happen with the motherboard if anytihng then it comes with a good little booklet(also should detail the PowerLED/Reset switch etc.) detailing the various plugs and sockets. It is easy you'll be fine as long as you understand not to use hammers or let your dog chew the components.
