I have spent 5 hours or so in the first one before, but man it was so buggy and ran like **** on my PC. I also did not like the combat.
Can I go right for Witcher 2?

Ok great. Did the inventory system and the whole alchemy, ingredients...etc thing improved? Because I also hated this about the first one.GazaAliThe inventory is still a bit clumsy, better then the first one but still a bit messy.
I would say stick with the first, do well in it and you will have some nice bonuses when you start the second along with the fact events from the first one change the sequel in a way I found superior to Mass Effect personally. The combat and inventory is very much changed though, its better from the sense you can now hold a stash of weapons and armour to compare in your inventory for example but like the first it still takes some learning your way around.
Either way you are in for a real treat but I think the first game deserves to be played :).
[QUOTE="RK-Mara"]If the original didn't run well on your PC, how do you expect the second one to run?GazaAli
It is a **** to run be warned, for some reason it has made my 6870 hotter than any game I have played forcing me to finally set up a fan profile with afterburner. Its like the Metro 2033 of rpg's :P except the gameplay doesn't let it down.
You'll be clueless about some stuff and I can see a person getting very overwhelmed in chapter 1 by the flood of character names and factions being thrown at you that the game expects you to already be familar with. That said, the first Witcher was very buggy. I found it to be unplayable by chapter 5 due to the fact that the game would crash every 5 minutes.

I had the same problem with crashes way before act 5 on my old XP machine. Built this computer 3 years ago played the game not a single crash. Just checked my crash log to confirm. And I'm quite sure the computer in your sig wasn't around then or did you try playing on it later? Just sayin'.
No you can't. It says right there on the minimum systems requirement "Completion of The Witcher", with the recommended system requirement needing players to have completed the Enhanced Edition. PhilmonYep I saw this as well. Sorry :(

I still personally think the whole alchemy/ingredients thing is annoying...
If you didn't like the first one which was reviewed positively, then what makes you want to get the second one? Because it's new? Better looking? or that it is also reviewed well?gokuofheavenI'm mostly playing the second one cause I loved everything about the first one except the combat and the alchemy. They fixed the combat on part 2.... the alchemy is still a bit annoying...
