can I install Valve's orange box games on other PC's?

hi Gamespot peeps,

I bought orange box cd's and i want to install them on my other computers, before I start the long winded install/update process, is it possible to install the games and have them run in offline mode or does steam always need to be logged into and connect to the network?

uhh why not register them on Steam so you can download them as many times as you want on whatever computer you happen to be playing in whatever country you happen to be?
