Can my PC run Empire: Total War? I mean run this game without a hitch. Intel Core2 Quad Q9000 2.0GHz processor Windows Vista Home Premium (64 bit) Dual Nvidia GTX 280M SLI graphics 1920x1200 (1200p) 17" screen 4 GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1066 MHz 500GB 7,200 RPM HDD DVD Drive I'm concerned about the 2.0 processor. Will this be a problem? The game requires a 2.4 single core processor.

Honestly, if I were you, I would head on over to Creative Assembly's Total War website, and post this question in the Empire Forum. Over there you'll get a much more reliable answer.

no problems at all with that pc the game supports quad cores so the cpu is fine. and the graphics cards are top of the line for laptops and also 2.4ghz single core probably means Pentium 4 speed a intel quad core 2.0ghz much faster then a Pentium 4 2.4ghz clock for clock and that is with only one core being used and since virtually all modern games support at least 2 cores the speed difference grows even bigger and in a game like empire total war which uses all 4 cores the intel quad core destroys a single core Pentium 4. you are falling for the ghz myth that more equals better something that intel exploited with there Pentium 4 series. Numerous things make up the speed of a processor and some are more efficient then others. you cant compare processors in different groups by GHz..

Try the demo. It will give you only a rough estimate of how well you can run Empire Total War as the game got updated and probably optimized.

Okay, thanks guys. I'll definitely take that advice to heart. I just want to make sure. I heard they optimized the game in a patch that just came out, 1.3 or something.
