Can i rollback to sp2 from sp3?

I believe this is alot of my problem on my computer. Half of my software wont work on sp3! I want to go back to sp2.. if i uninstall sp3, what will happen?

I'm pretty sure that's not the problem........did you create a restore point?

No ive had it installed for awhile now since i had automatic updates on. I tried to use some software that i haven messed with for awhile, now it says it is not compatible with my os/sp3!

What will happen if i uninstall it though? will it just go back to sp2 automatically? i dont want to mess up my computer to where i cannot do anything.

You're safe to remove it. If uninstalling SP3 was going to demolish your system it wouldn't be an option. Per the article, this will remove a number of security updates that were bundled with it so you'll need to reapply those seperately.

I wont need a windows disk or nothing? i dont have the recovery disk for my computer or anything.

Theres a few drivers, and my session software doesn't work with it.

What do they say as far as error messages? Between SP2 and SP3, drivers in particular should be completely blind as to what OS service pack you're using. It does sound a little bit odd from here.

There is a possibility that Microsoft is no longer making any security updates for SP2, so if you went back to it, the chance exists that your PC could be vulnerable to exploits that bypass your A-V and firewall.
