Yeah, the GPU seems like a major bottleneck. I really want to play this game. I wish steam would let me try it out first
Will I be able to run this game at 1080P and achieve sixty frames per second?
you should probably post your specs if you want that question answered.

lol really? google is your friend.
"According to Rockstar, the recommended specifications are based on hardware that can run the game at 1080p, at 60 frames-per-second. For that, Rockstar suggest a Nvidia GTX 660 2GB or AMD HD7870 2GB."
"To run the game on a 4K display at 30fps," says Hoare, "you’ll need at minimum an AMD HD 7870 or Nvidia GTX 760 with 2GB of VRAM." As for the 4K at 60 frames-per-second, that'll require a "high-end SLI or Crossfire setup."

Damn, not stronger than that? I wonder what settings the recommended is based on.
Let's put it this way, I have a GTX 980, and given Rockstar's history of lousy ports, even I'm expecting it to run badly. No way Intel HD graphics is going to cut it.

No, Google is not my friend. The other day while I was sleeping on Google's couch, it stuck a carrot up my butt. Friends don't stick carrots up each other's butts. I'm done with Google!
@Chatch09: Yeah but TORtanic can run on a toaster. My computer is basically a potato with wires and it still runs TORtanic at like 50fps. Not a great benchmarking tool.
@emil_fontz: At max setting, no. I've played GTA V with i5 core and GTX 770 and it's not enough for max setting with stable 60 fps. If you change from max to high or medium, I'm sure you can achieve that.
Maybe on low? But it is not sure ;(
Yeah, i spoke too soon yesterday. It runs really bad. Frame rates are decent but there's a lot of screen tearing, bugs. the sky is a black box most of the time and it's just horrible to look at.
Nobody move! I'm hijacking this thread whether you like it or not!
Anyways, can I run it relatively smoothly on my rig?
AMD Athlon II X4 641 2.8GHz
4GB RAM DDR3
AMD Radeon HD 7700 1GB
Win7 x64
I'll be playing at 1360x768 and I'm already mentally prepared for low-medium details at best. And yes, I know what the requirements are and I could judge for myself, but with Rockstar's history of PC ports you never know, so I'd like an opinion from someone who's had experience with the game and can say for sure whether I'm able to run it or not.
EDIT: Also, we should make this thread the general one for asking this question to avoid messing the board up. Everyone agree?
Well on onboard graphics a big NO. You will need at least GT 710 to play this play game on low graphics settings.

I had a gtx 660 3gb with an amd fx6200 and 18 gb ram, the cpu is the bottleneck im pretty sure. Problem with this game is, they patched it to near perfection around june of 2015, then, to get rid of hackers (didnt work at all), they apparently inserted like 10mb of junk code (that is a ton) for some insane reason. This makes the cpu optimization get worse, considering for your cpu to find info in the code, where it used to apparently take 580 ms to access a file, since the update it takes around 2800 ms. I havent really played it since november or so. I got an r9 380x 4gb gpu, and the performance is actually a little worse. its bs, and its made my opinion of the game itself go way down.
