Your laptop is CPU heavy instead of GPU heavy.
My laptop is also CPU heavy i.e. 45 watts for CPU with 26 watts GPU. Looking back, I would flip it around i.e. my next laptop would be GPU heavy.
Anyway, Skyrim at ultra setting with AMD Radeon 6490M http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CytuzdoRVPU
Skyrim at high setting with AMD Radeon 6490M http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8n85rborSIQ
Linking to these kind of youtube videos really isn't very useful...@jconduah

[QUOTE="ronvalencia"]Linking to these kind of youtube videos really isn't very useful... mm there are several bogus ones or ones done using different resolutions or poor quality recording to mask the fact that their being played on lesser settings. i also trust a ahrd benchmark before i do something someone made using imovie or w/e and sent to youtube@jconduah

Note that the outdoor scenes has frame rate issues.

I run on Ultra,1280x720p resolution I turn shadows down to low or medium. 4xAA+no Af/ or/ no AA+ 16 AF which ever you prefer. DONT FORCE IN CCC and use multisample if you DO use AA. Also make sure you right click desktop, select configure switchable graphic and select the TES.exe file so it uses the High performance GPU
On some cases, I don't trust notebookcheck i.e. they are not the only ones with multiple laptop hardware and different drivers can change the playable threshold.
For example http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD-6250.40958.0.html
The statement "Modern games like Starcraft 2 or Battlefield Bad Company 2 are unplayable..." is wong. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBfDl314rgE and I have the actual Radeon HD 6250M hardware.
