what do you mean by perfectly? no lags or no lockups and BSOD's? hl2 is a very scalable game.

Sorry, I was a bit vague indeed. Well the site said all my specs matched the recommanded requirements but however, when I put the game on the highest graphics with AA and everything on it slows down a lot !!! I can run it on medium-high settings but deffinitialy not with AA on. I hope that answerd ur question.

oh i see, so everything maxed out with no lag for you is perfect rite? i think you'll encounter about the same performance as you did with hl2 on fable then.

You might need to turn down the settings a bit more in Fable than HL2 though.

The fact that you meet recommended settings doesnt mean you can run everything maxed out. Each game has some default settings, and it will run fine at those. To run maxed out you need to EXCEED recommended settings.

I did EXCEED the recommendations with half-life 2.
And I also exceeded it with Fable but since half-life 2 didn't run that good I was a bit confused.
So that's why I asked here, if you guys maybe could give ur opinion in my specs...

The System Requirements Test does not taking into account actual Pixel and Vertex processing speed, only the make of the graphics card and the memory - so while a useful tool, it is not always accurate.

Wow, the tool must be broken. If these are your specs: CPU: 2 processors running - Intel(R) Pentium 4 CPU 3.20 GHz CPU speed: 3.19 GHz Performance Rated at 4.79 GHz System RAM: 1022.1 MB Video Card: Radeon X300/X550 Series 128 MB Free Disk Space: 94.2 GB What is that, a P4 with hyperthreading? With that and the video card you have I am not surprised you are having issues maxing HL2 out. How old is your PC? Is that integrated graphics?

Wow, I don't even remember that coming out. The lowest I remember was X800. It doesnt even show up on the VGA charts from Toms Hardware. Still, the System Requirements Lab site shouldnt be that easily fooled. It looks like you are in need of a better video card. I assume its AGP? If it is, then a X1950Pro ought to help out a bit.

all of your comp is pretty high end(for 2004) concidering what was about in 2004. But ytou video card is the obvious upgrade and then you should be able to put things to the max. the x300 and x550 arent really meant for gaming, especially newer more demanding games like hl2. You will be able to run Fable on your pc with high settings but dont max out AA and AF. As said the x1950 pro will let you run games at much higher settings if you want to upgrade your pc.(Im assuming you have AGP seeing as its from 2004)
