Can I stick an AGP x8 card in an AGP x4 BUS?

Topic. I'm guessing that the card will be compatible, but will be running slower than it would in an AGP x8 BUS. Correct? Please only answer if you're 100% sure =/

yes, it will run at agp 4x mode tho.

This is not as straight forward as it sounds in this thread. Even though the agp speeds are backwards compatible, there could be compatibility problems with the different voltages linked to the agp version supported by your motherboard.

Read here for explanation.
