Yes you can use a laptop for gaming. It is similar to a desktop computer just smaller parts that are compacted into one easly movable device.
I would get a desktop unless you need to also need a laptop for school. A desktop will cost 3 times less than a laptop and have stronger specs.
Agreed. Also it depends on the kind of games you play. If you want to play FPS, you are probably better off with a desktop. Strategy, which involve a lot of mouse clicking, like Age of Empires, then a laptop will do just fine.I would get a desktop unless you need to also need a laptop for school. you can yea. the only problem is that u cant upgrade the GPU or CPU in most models so if u want to use it for gaming dont skimp on those bits. if ure prepared to make a few compromises in the games settings in the future then it can also last for some time. try and get a monitor that has a res like 1440X900 (or at least stay below 1920X1200). that way ure GPU wont be as strained trying to play games at the screens native resolution (and u can put a few more quid towards better hardware). u will still be able to hook it up to a monitor or TV if you wish. also be prepared to pay a pretty penny for a solid gaming laptop....they dont come cheap.
Edit: oh i would also recommend getting a USB mouse of some sort. trackpad are rubbish at gaming (there rubbish in general to be honest)
Unless you really need a portable computer, get a custom rig. Gaming-standard laptops are very expensive, and the ones you get for £200 are good for older games, i.e. 3+ years.
