I have a:

1.3 ghz intel celeron proccesor

NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4400

380 mb ram

Can my computer run halflife without those really long load times.

Also ive had no sound for quite some time, my computer has an integrated sound card so if i bought a new sound card do you think this would solve the problem?

Well it'll probably run the same way as my PC which isn't that great, but I can say that Episode 1 ran a lot better than Half Life 2. Anyway, you should try the demo first.
