You can probably get about $100 for your motherboard on eBay...

if its LGA 775 u MIGHT be able to drop in some form of a core 2 quad like a QX8300, but without a bios update it will be tough to guarentee if it will work, or if your PSU is up to it. Plus, those CPUS are rare and expensive. Ditch it and rebuild from scratch!

Yeah if you're going to change your motherboard, that often means you might aswell build yourself a new PC.

Yeah, and DDR2 is pretty valuable right now. TC, you can likely get enough for a new motherboard and RAM if you sell your current motherboard and RAM on eBay...

Sweet ill have to do that. Whatever helps ease the cost of a new machine, what would you recommend for a motherboard?

The BIOSTAR Hi-Fi Z87X 3D is excellent, especially for $119.99. But, it doesn't offer SLI, only crossfire. If you want the option for both SLI and crossfire, then go for the GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-D3H for $139.99. If you want maximum compatibility for a RAID setup, and also want the option for SLI and CF, then go for the GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-UD3H for $154.99...
