Can my PSU handle the HD 4850 or 4870?

You can run 4870... I'm sure of it... Don't buy 4830, if you have around $150 USD buy 4850...

4850 yes, 4870 I think it will and it has the connections for both but not crossfire.

That psu has 42A on the 12V line, which can even power a 4870x2. (the 4870x2 takes 250W IIRC, which is 21A).
