Can Someone Help Me Out

Ive always been a console gamer but bought a Alienware today and it should arive on August 7th.Well here are the stats of it

Video/Graphics Card:256mb NVidia GeForce Go 7900 GS

Processor:AMD Turion 6 Mobile ML34 1.8Ghz 800Ghz FSB 1MB L2 Cache

Motherboard:Alienware NVIDIA Mobile Sli Chipset

Memory:1GB Dual Channel DDR SO-DIMM at 400MHz - 2 x 512MB

Sound Card:High Def Audio With Surround Sound

By the way its Windows Vista Ultimate and id like to know if this is good enough to run Halo 2,Shadowrun,S.T.A.L.K.E.R

,and future Games for Windows games.I wont be playing that much just here and there because i still perfer console than pc.Mainly ill be using it for Internet and School Work

Depend what is the model of your laptop.

It looks as though that specific model from Alienware is upgradable to 2GB of DDR at 400Mhz. Just make sure that when you do upgrade the memory to get DDR instead of DDR2, and also match the frequency as well. For example, if the computer is using PC3200 at 400Mhz, you'll want to just play it safe and purchase that. The memory module that is installed in the system should have a sticker on it that will list this information. Hope this helps.opiatedbliss

Neither of those will work as they are desktop memory modules, not notebook memory modules. The brand isn't going to matter, just the type of memory. I would recommend checking newegg, I know they have a seperate section dedicated to notebook memory.

Thats for a 1gb stick of ram, which should work. I don't know much about laptops, so I dont know if you can just put in one for 2gb...or if you have to buy 2 and replace 2 you have...
