I'm thinking about getting a new computer with Vista Home Premium Edition and Windows Media Center. I work nights, so I want to be able to set my computer to record over the air HDTV shows and analog cable tv shows to the hard drive. I would like the card to be able to record in 720p as a mpeg-2 or mpeg-4 so I can burn my own Blu-Ray disks. If I get a 720 Gig hard drive, will that be enough, or should I get a 1 Terabyte hard drive?

The specs on the computer I'm ordering: Dual core (12MB) 3.0 GHz, 8 Gigs RAM, GeForce GTX 285 graphics card.

Thanks!

Pinnacle 800i tuner card. Costs $80 and recives over the air HD and has built in ClearQAM so you can use cable television on it. You can record in HD but it is very, VERY taxing. I have one and it works perfectly. You also need a strong antenna and a big harddrive. Whenever you watch and HD program the Tuner cards have to save temporary files onto it which can reach well over 3 gbs. If you use it DON'T USE THE DEFAULT TV APPLICATION!!! Use Sagetv instead.

But dont take my word for it, check out this in-depth review...
