Do you mean the HD 3870?

The new GTS beats the 3870.

The 512MB 8800GT has a slight advantage over the HD3870.

The 8800 GTS (512 MB) is better.

A closer comparison would be a 3870 HD and a 8800 GT (512 MB). The 8800 GT is a bigger advantage.

Well do you want the cheaper GT, or the higher performer GTS version (not woth the extra price though)?

Anyways I would pick this:

well, 8800 is definately better, but ATI card has it's own pros: you can connect it directly to your big screen HDTV (if you have one) and play HD content in it's full beauty. I don't think that it is important but I just stated the fact ;)

you can do that with nvidia cards too, but the 512 8800 GTS is better than the HD3870.

No, THAT you can't do with nvidia cards. they will transmit a simple signal, not HD. And did I say that HD3870 is better than the 512 8800 GTS?

first of all calm down i never said you that you said the 3870 was better i just stated that the GTS was better. so you are trying to tell me that no nvidia card cannot output HD content even though they all have HDCP... what you should have said was that the hd3870 has an hdmi port which nvidia cards dont and id hardly say DVI singal is simple at all but anyways you can use a DVI to HDMI cable so i wouldn't really say that HDMI port is much of a pro point...
