Macs work well with windows you can run Mac OS X and Windows XP or Windows Vista side by side. Your PC should run vista just not the Premium verison just Basic. You will need to upgrade Ram and Video card in order to run windows premium with that PC. Even with windows basic by looking at your CPU you will have slugglish performance.

If you want to run windows vista well you will need to upgrade that system or change to a Mac. 1 GB of ram, 128MB 6600GT nvidia, pentium D/Athlon X2 should be a minimum spec of a well running windows vista computer.

That's a GPU that's built in the Motherboard of a computer they are very poor performance. As long as it has 128MB of memory in the card it should run windows vista premium. But I highly recommend a nVidia or ATi GPU even a low end model over integrated.

Before you go waisting your money, the very first things you should find out about your macbook is whether or not it is x86 based and has at least 1 gig of ram. Since it was given to you my bet is that its a power pc based one so you are out of luck.
