The only games I've had trouble with are The Movies and The Witcher.
I've had no problems with the games I've tried, but it is a bit hit and miss. Since you mentioned adventure games in your first post, I've seen reports of people not being able to run Still Life in Vista. However, certain versions of Vista can run it perfectly in compatibility mode, other versions can't. It seems "Will this run on Vista?" isn't a broad enough question.
It would be helpful if someone somewhere has created a site where this stuff's been tested. No idea if such a site or wiki exists though.
basically i've noticed the older a game is, the harder it is to get it running. i've had no problems with most games, i currently have puzzle quest, guilty gear reload#2, crysis and gears of war installed. however when i tried to install neverwinter nights it installs fine but then says "you don't have enough ram to run this game" which is funny since i have 3 gigs. z4twennyStrange, I recently installed Neverwinter Nights with the two Add-ons in Vista, and it runs smoothly. And I got 2 gigs worth RAM.
