can you play PC edition after midnight launch for mw2?

simple question no one seems to be able to answer,

i've seen steam version with 12th release date for unlock.

I've seen screenshots of PC version and IW.net not being available yet.

so when can we play it?

All bashing aside, you should be able to buy a PC version at the midnight release, though Steam users may have to wait a day or so.

But arent all PC MW2 players required to use Steam?

Steam purchase opens on the 12th. Those who bought from stores can play tonight at midnight.

its not about code being verified its about the multiplayer actually being enabled, when you try to click multiplayer game ive seen screenshots of it saying IW.net matchmaking servers are not available .
