a game that has very good graphics. I would like to say, that i dont want R6: Vegas, because i heard that its support for 8800 is very bad, also dont reccomend me Supremem Commander, which isnt having very good graphics. Either STALKER, which isnt having very good graphics too. Only R6:Vegas, has very good graphics in my opinion, STALKER and SC has good graphics, but not very good. So is out there any game, that has a very good graphics, and it isnt R6: Vegas???

I am a fan of FPS, RTS and a racing games, but i dont have the wheel, so i dont know if it is smart to buy a racing game.

And by racing games, i mean games like GTR2, Gt Legends, not that stupid NFS series. Also Test Drive Unlimited, is very good game.

But is it enjoyable whitout wheel? If not, can you recomend me a nice, not too expensive wheel?

Thanks in advance

"STALKER and SC has good graphics, but not very good."

With dynamic light on and high settings (easy on your system) STALKER is easily one of the best looking FPS I have ever seen.

Yes, but i dont like NFS. I dont like it . It is simply too boring. The game modus are simply to repetitive. TDU is better, since it is on island.

And i really dont like these modification of cars in NFS. TDU is more simulation than arcade.

So should i get STALKER, TDU, or something else??

Yeah, i know. But Quake 4 is too similar to Doom 3. I played the demo of Ghost Recon, but i dont like it that much.

I would recommend this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826128006

I've bought one when it was $99.99 and have had it for years. The force feedback is fantastic. I played GTR2 with the keyboard and with the wheel. The wheel blows the keyboard away.

Yeah, Gothic 3 is nice game, but i heard, that it is very buggy too. Is it really so buggy??.

Anno 1701 is also very good game, i played the demo, but it not my game type. I like RTS whit constant action, like C&C3, or Company of heroes.

Yeah, Gothic 3 is nice game, but i heard, that it is very buggy too. Is it really so buggy??.

Anno 1701 is also very good game, i played the demo, but it not my game type. I like RTS whit constant action, like C&C3, or Company of heroes.

I played through the game twice and the only bug I noticed was at one of the desert temples where you can slip underneath the map. This was consistent with both run throughs. I have heard of issues with the game if you do not have Windows XP SP2.. The game is pretty finiky with 64bit OSes as well.. I even heard it doesn't run all that well under Vista..

BTW, I never patched Gothic 3.. I played it straight out of the box.. :)

JTF is much like CoH.. but a bit more my type of RTT game.. :) You don't have a "base" per say.. and the units you rank up can follow with you to the next map.. and get special abilities.. Also, I think the graphics are on par if not better in JTF.. but it will TAX your system.. if you flip up the AA to fulll etc..

Also your units are pretty powerful and if you take care of them, you can wipe out an entire map with just one unit..

CoH has pretty much infinate resources.. this is not so in JTF.. and is more "realistic" in that sense.. You gain money by completing objectives .. anyways it's worth a look to see if it is your type of game :)

So you think the STALKER is the way to go. I also think the same. And by the way, in every review of Gothic 3 that i read, they were all saying that it is very buggy.

SO STALKER. What do you think?

I would like to add.
Everything you should be thinking about, is on buying STALKER, everything else ride now is not wourth buying, downloading maybe instead. The real problem is not your RIG but the games itself. Thats why I never upgrade before it's worth it. Today I have apreety good rig: 6600, 2Gb DD2 and my favorite 7900 GTX Extreme Editon. I can play almost everything on max, no need for cutting edge. I am not an overclocker or any of it's kind. If you are thinking with your brain not your money, then you one day you will understand that it was not worth on having the best of the best before the real games are out and fully support's your hardware. There are games that are comming out later this year, where I think, I am going to need to upgrade my GFX, but it's only a very big maybe, it deppends on many things, and not what you or I score in the brand new 3dMark2006, course it's only a program for future games.
Many people would never understand this, but others do! Lot's of my friends still playing just fine on: 3GHz P4 or3000+ AMD 64 bit proccessors and 6800 Ultra or in the worst case Radeon 700 Pro. Precticly we are all getting almost the same gameplay expirience becides the graphics. In most cases people get used to it, but many sujests that in the end it deppends on how good is your picture quality on your monitor CRT/LCD. Now I can finally see what they ment. I have seen lot's and lot's of CRT and LCD screens..... I can continew.... but not in this topic. Get 22" Samsung 226BW and you will see what I mean.

What about Test drive unlimited. I still dont know if its good or not.

There are photos on this site.

Plus, screen shots don't really do the game justice.  The game is dripping with atmosphere, and that is really hard to capture in a screen shot.

Like when outside, and a thunder storm is coming, the lightning actually lights up the environment and cast real shadows from trees and other objects.  It is really eerie and looks amazing.  Or when other stalkers walk around in the dark with flash lights, and all the shadows are cast.

When I had a 6800GT I thought the game looked bleh...but with an 8800GTS, it is literally the most visually impressive game I have ever seen as far as effects and atmosphere goes.

I didnt want to wait to buy a new PC, because i was having a relly bad PC before, whit celeron, ATI 9200SE, and 512MB RAM. I had that PC for 2 years, and in middle 2006, i wasnt able to play most of new games. So i decide to upgrade.

Actually, it wasnt me, who decide to upgrade. I didnt bought that PC by myself. It was a gift from my dad.  Since i am only 14 years old, i still cant get a job. In our country you have to be 15 years old if you want to get a job. So it wasn my decision when i would get that PC. And by the monitor. I was also thinking of getting that samsung, but i saw a widescreen monitor live, and i didnt like it. Not for games. When you have such a wide screen you think that it would be even better t have higher monitor whit that wide. And then you get 4:3 monitor.

And at the moment i am having a really nice samsung LCD monitor whit PVA matrix, 19", so i am not afraid that games like bioshock or crysis wont work on my PC, since i can play games only in 1280x1024.

I also have a CRT monitor whit res. 1600x1200. And if i would get a new LCD, i would certanly get one whit PVA matrix. But i dont live in USA, so in our country all that stuff is mor expensive.

Yeah, right. Nice game. I read the review. It is using Doom 3 engine, right?? It is probably cheap now. Good guess. Thank you.

Yeah, right. Nice game. I read the review. It is using Doom 3 engine, right?? It is probably cheap now. Good guess. Thank you.

actually it's based on a custom engine but it shares many things with the Doom 3 engine like normal-mapping for example

Great game. 9.3 was the score on gamespot. I am going to buy it. It si a mix of adventure, FPS, or something like that. I know you have to talk to peoples to help you escape from that prison.

Nice choice.

Can you turn AA and AF on? If i will buy this game, i would like to turn on all eye candy i can. Since Riddick is cheap, i will probably buy two games. So The Chronicles of Riddick and maybe R6: Vegas. I would be running it in 1280x1024.

Great, but do i need a racing wheel for that? Can you recomend me one, not too expensive? domke13

By the way, the Logitech MOMO steering wheel mentioned earlier is awesome! I have that one. However, if you are looking to go cheap, I also picked up the Thrustmaster Ferrari GT 2-in-1 Rumble Force Racing Wheel for a 2nd from somewhere for like $30. I like that wheel quite a bit actually!!! It used rumble instead of true force feedback, but I don't mind using it at all --- terrific for the price.
