Owing to a hard drive failure Ive just bought a SSD and a HDD. I'd like to install the majority of the steam library on the HDD and a few of the frequently used multiplayer games on the SSD.I've not checked recently if its possible. I know it was one of steams shortcomings.

They recently added it, it's just not available for every game for some reason.

It's more of a work around but you can use symbolic links to link the default install directory to any other you choose, meaning you can store all your game data on a big HDD and use a symbolic link to link it to your default steam game install folder on your SSD. As far as Steam is aware your default install folder on your SSD and the folder on your HDD will be the same. I've never tried this though, so I'm not sure how well it actually works.

yes they added that feature ( bot sure if its available on the final build but its there on the current beta ) though some games dont work with it ( when you click to install a game it presents you an option on which drive and folder to install the game
