ok so i have an amd 5200 (stock is 2.6GHz) and i overclocked it in slight increments rfom 2.6 to 2.65 then 2.7 then 2.8Ghz (exact)
all i did was set the multiplier to x13 then bump up the fsb to 216 (to reach 2.8GHz) then i tried to 2.9GHz by setting the fsb to 224 but my pc would make weird noise and somehow it booted just in time for me to press DEL to enter the bios and lower the fsb back to 216 (2.8GHz) then i tired to 220 FSB to go to 2.860GHz and i booted to windows and ran Prime 95 but it failed the first test to i exited and went back to my safe overclock of 2.8GHz (216X13)
the highest my temps go when at load at 2.8GHz is about 51C and nothing higher
my mobo is an msi cf-f 790x and it said it cant support 125w cpus and i was thinking if that could be a problem i think my cpu runs at 90w but does overclocking it make it use more watts?
if the mobo is not the problem what should i do
i have G.Skill DDR2-800 (pc2-6400) 2X1GB ram do i need to underclock or overclock it i dont know how to oc ram that well
should i raise the voltages abit if so what are safe increments to go by (i aslo have an arctic cooling freezer 64 pro heatsink)
