cant get windows xp to boot form cd

im trying to reformat and it wont boot from cd. yes i went into the BIOS and put first thing to boot CD ROM but it's not asking me if i want to.... what else can i do to make it boot from cd?

I had the same problem and took a lot of time 2 fix it.

But there was a easy fix:

-I looked in the bios @ boot & Quick boot was on; when i took it off it was all oke.

BUT @ Bootdevice (or something like that) u can see 1,2,3 etc with HDD and ur dvd/cd player ranked.

@ first u need 2 set the dvd/cd-player and second the HDD.

i tried a couple different configurations and it still didn't work... i googled around a little bit and read something that said to make sure you put the cd into your "master drive" i have 2 drives installed, but one is dead... so is there anything i can do to make sure the drive im trying to use is the master drive?

ur pc should start the cd-device first.. so its reading that windows-cd wants to do something & not read the HDD first, cuz then will Windows start.

U could make a bootcd in stead of a floppy.

If u got a floppy its very easy, just typ some words into google;)
