Can't output higher than 1280x720?

Hi,

I have a 15 inch screen that used to output above 1280x720 when I had my xbox connected to it but when I connect it to my pc, I can only display up to 1280x720. I want to display at the monitors native res but I can't:evil:

Any ideas on why this might be happening? My graphics card is a Nvidia geforce 8800gts (320mb)

My monitor is supposed to be able to display at 1440x900 which should be the native.

did you try reinstalling your video cards drivers or updating them?zahyr

Yes, I installed the latest drivers from the Nvidia website

native res for a 15in is 1024x768 is it not?

On the box, it says 1440x900

720p sounds about right, for what your Xbox was outputting. How do you know it was higher?

Are you trying to set the res from Windows itelf or the nVidia Control Panel? There's a spot in the latter where you can set the max res for that monitor.
