Can't play BF3: Aftermath

So I installed the latest update of Battlefield 3. I now have the aftermath expansion installed.

But when I want to join a server on battlelog it says: "You need the following expansion: Aftermath"

I have two options: open in origin, which does nothing and continue, which does nothing either.

Anyone have any experience with this ? I could play Armored Kill just fine when it was first released:?

Its not officially released on PC until December 18th (PS3 on December 11th...Grrrrr). They always seem to have some servers up and a few people playing before the actual release...I'm assuming they are developers or testers of some kinda.lockjaw333

He's right... and not right. I think premium members get it early and otherwise you have to wait for the 18th to play it.

But is it not out yet for premium either ? I can see people playing it but not a lot

UPDATE: Aftermath is being made available progressively for all of our PC Premium members. It should be available to all PC Premium members no later than end of day today (Dec 4). Thanks for your patience.

If a person just bought aftermath and not premium then they must just be a brain dead reknob.

If you can get premium or premium edition on a sale I would recommend it, otherwise just go for the best expansions.

I have premium and couldn't play as of last night. Was that update released today? As of last night when I looked it wasn't available yet for premium members. I will check tonight.lockjaw333

I was actually surprised to see it yesterday (3 december). So I tried it and it didn't work. I thought I would wait a day untill the official releasedate (4 december) but I still cant play.

Origin updated my BF3, if that is what you are asking, with a 3GB update. And on battlelog it says that I now own Aftermath

It seems like origin didn't properly download aftermath for some reason.

For the people still having troubles with it, I read this on the forums:

"In Origin, hold your mouse over Battlefield 3. There will show two buttons. 'Play' and 'i' . Press the i. Then, under the 'Expansions' tab, hold your mouse over Aftermath. Press download! :D"

I'm gonna try it out, hope it helps

So that worked, the problem was origin not wanted to download (the second 3GB update for) this mappack for some bizare and inexplicable reason.

If anyone still has problems, try what I quoted above ;)

I played last night, and I gotta say this is the best map pack so far. Funny thing is, with these maps it sctually felt more like BF2, than with actual BF2 maps (back to Karkland). Sure they are not big maps, but if you like hiding places, or on top of buildings, and several, several pathways and ways to get to your target, it's great.DevilMightCry

Yeah the maps so far are great, still need to get used to scavenger though.
