So I just saw that on GoW u can change the blood and gore off and the strong language can u do that in like left 4 dead or some good fps thats M to technically make it T

The language in L4D isn't nearly as bad as the Gears games. The F word is never used in the campaign, the worst being the S word. As for a filter, null, but the blood isn't as horrible. There is some nudity in a hospital area, but nothing in the front. But no, there isn't a filter. Blood isn't so bad.

No. There are some head removals and such, but it's not as bloody and gruesome at all. It still is somewhat bad, but not as bad as GOW.

Really all it is, just a small hind-shot of a patient at a hospital. It's.. What you'd expect to see of a body in a hospital robe laying face-down. >_>

I don't want to encourage disobeying your parents, but.......if you are a gamer who wants to play some great games, well, you do the math.... The Soldier of Fortune games have a low-violence option, if that helps.

Well being you're under 17 I'm going to guess, it really is up to them what they get you, but I think if they're so concerned, they should actually watch gameplay videos of what goes on in the game, it would save them money and worry. I'm not taking sides in this at all, but I think since they're payin' for it, they should really actually look at what's there. Parents just don't seem to do that anymore, but I honestly think they should worry more about the violence than language and a rear. xD;

That's what I'm trying to make my point, they know what's on the box, but they may not know -why- it's so bad, but they may let him play certain M games. I think it's more of what's in it than by the agegroup. I don't know. That's how my parents were when I was growing up, and the same for a lot of people I know.

Why not just play them? If the probelm is with the parental control in vista you can turn them off via msconfig

I never understand that crap... Parents are fine subjecting children to extreme, gruesome violence and adult themes, but are completely against any idea of sex or sexuality................... When I was a kid my parents wouldnt let me play streets of rage 2 because it was too violent.................

That's just in the States. People in Europe are more open, especially in Finland with the strong sauna culture. Here nudity is fine for all ages, as long as it isn't pornographic. But it doesn't really matter with games as only erotic games have nudity. But you shouldn't really courage him to play games that his parents don't allow him to play. It's their decision, not yours. You can do whatever you want with your own kids.

Actually, there is a low violence mode for Left 4 Dead. I don't know exactly what it covers, but I'm pretty sure one of the features is toned down gore. Search steams website under the support tab to find the tidbit explaining how to run it in low violence mode. Also, the TC was not asking for a bunch of "lol whats the point of playing it without gore lulz" posts. Not everyone wants to see a zombie decapitated with a shotgun, and I truly don't get why some people care so much. It's a video game for crying out loud.

As long as you're a mature individual who's 13 or older then I don't see the big deal in playing some of these games. Most M-games are essentially the same as T-games just with a few curse words and more gore thrown in, the core themes however are very similar. Honestly, I don't think I've played more than a handful of truly "mature" games, and most of them had little to no cursing or gore.

There is probably less blood in Left 4 Dead than there is in Tf2. In tf2 people's arms legs and heads go flying everywhere and in L4D you just shoot zombies heads off, and zombies are just dead people so who cares if you kill them! L4D is just darker and TF2 i so bright and happy that all the blood is just kind of funny.

If you cannot play M rated games because of your parents due to language/nudity but not gory violence? Hypocrisy at its finest. To be brutally honest, L4D has lots of blood, you can shoot heads and limbs off and there is some swearing. Not a game for kids that is for sure.

Or find away around the rules, cause lets face it, thats the more likely outcome. If his parents let him browse internet forums unsupervised (im guessing unsupervised based on his user name and the nature of the questions here) then they cant be that bad in relation to censorship. To be honest left for dead is not that bad as far as gore and language is concerned, its a "movie simulation" to an extent. Anyway, just check out the gameplay videos found elsewhere on the site.

Huh?? Its not even real blood or violence. Imagine it as if it was tomato sauce...

Anyway, you can tweat the games in the coding, life the .ini and .cgf files. Its not so hard but there has to be a line attributed to blood

As long as a game has zero nudity, and not alot of cursing ( like @!%& you! You son of a @!$%*) at every moment, kids under the age of 17 should be able to play it.
