Hi, I recently installed a Creative audigy 7.1 card, however now I am unable to use the headphone/mic sockets anymore that are situated at the front of my computer, only the headphone/mic sockets on the back of the Audigy card work, does anyone know a way of recitifiying this.

This is my mobo:

Confused about your query. Some Audigy cards come with a front panel that's connected to the back card by a ribbon cable. If you're not talking about that but a USB port on the front of the machine then you have to go into the "Control Panel" then into "Sound and Audio Devices" and set what you want to use for input and out put there.

Hope this helps.

Sorry for not being clear. What I mean is after I installed the sound card i'm unable to use the red and green ports on the front of my tower:

You need to connect the ribbon cable (the connector should be labeled something like 'Audio') to your sound card's front panel header. If it doesn't have one, you're out of luck.

I had a look and I'm pretty sure I can't connect the ports and the soundcard, does anyone know if theres something you can attach to a soundcard which will extend the headphone/mic sockets to the front of the PC?

Cheers again...

Nope. You'll need to use the ports in the back, I'm afraid.
