Hi guys,

Now I have a pretty decent Media pc that can handle counterstrike really well but not high spec games. I have started a youtube channel like yesterday and I want to record gameplay from my Xbox (which is downstairs). Now if I got say an Elgato does my pc/laptop have to be connected to my xbox and Elgato it won't save it on there like a hard drive so it's portable?

Thanks.

If you want a portable external card, just buy this, it does the job perfectly and you don't even need a PC to record it:

This is what I bought, avermedia live gamer portable lite. You need your pc on for this one.

They also have a different version which supports saving to a sd card if your pc is not available

This version also supports component input if you care about that. Other than those two things, they are identical.

I recorded a video with it, you can judge the quality for yourself.
