Well I have been watching TotalBiscuits latest BF3 video and I got to say I am impressed and it brought back many good memories of BF2. But I still have major concerns about Origin? What are peoples experiences with Origin so far? And are any of the concerns brandishing around the forums true?

I just watched the same clip on youtube... my God why can't this be the map for the beta. I feel cheated now. Thank god the games is out in 2 weeks though. I'm sold on the game and have been since its announcement :P but I haven't yet played it since the beta is still not available on PC :(.

Everything runs smooth except for adding friends. That window that pops up to search for friends takes a bit of time. More so than I'd like.. but then again, I may be nit-picking here...

Runs fine for me. Its not as bad as alot of people are making it out to be, most of them are just jumping on the bandwagon. The only thing im not a fan of is having to start the game through a webpage.

Yeah the initial development was for XP and Vista so Windows 7 x64 was a sort of makeshift compatibility from what i can see, slow for me as well.

Just played my first game and Origin is clunky, slow, and feels awkward to use. Maybe it will just take some getting used to.

Origin is still down, and oh dear hurm its annoying. Saying that as a long time user of Origin - the re skinned EA Downloader. Guess it's reflective of the BF2 demo release in 2005.

most of them are just jumping on the bandwagon.

And there's a ton of people who can't download or play the game atm due to the server issues of the Beta release. That =/= people throwing a tantrum over the game not being released on Steam, at all.

Origin runs extremely smooth. I feel it's faster than xfire and steam for me. Launching the BF3 beta through the browser is much faster and load times are almost instant compared to BC2 and I can even alt+tab and go back in without any slow downs.

Many people just don't like change and can't accept going on a new service. Origin isn't much different than any other service though. You won't even notice it besides having to click "PLAY"

Yes, BF3 is in Beta and you will have a few problems or glitches running it or launching it. Not Origin's fault, just the beta.

Many people would like the ability to change their settings without risking getting booted from servers. Saying that as someone who doesn't mind games on X, Y, Z services - from Stardock to Valve.

What I don't understand about Origin right now is why is it even needed at all to play Battlefield 3 since you have t start Battlelog to play the beta. Seems counter-intuitive. O

Well I got to be honest I am loving the Caspian map, is amazing fun as a sniper but the interface is way way to clunky to enjoy. I hate the launching from the browser and the fact that you have to start a game to alter any of the option including exiting the game is beyond stupid.

which has no possible relations to the amount of information origin obtains from your pc that people dont agreee with or the fact that theyre literally forcing you dl their application so they can monoploize their games on the DD side of things. i dont think its pathetic to not buy something because you dont agree with a companys business strategy. why on Gods green you think it is, is beyond me.

Origin is pretty unimpressive and Battlelog is just a cluster****. They could have saved everyone a lot of headache by implementing all of battlelogs features in-game. I'll manage but man, it is organised pretty horribly.

A lot of features are disabled on Battlelog, but it is very organized. If they had those features in game it would be extremely slow. Using a browser to select everything is less hardware instensive and then you just launch the game.

If you'd consider Steam as performing outstanding, then from my experience with Origin, I'd also call it outstanding.

People still talking about EA monopolizing and bring Steam into discussion, need to get a clue, there is already a monopoly and Steam has it, but hyprocrites have to talk about these things even if what they're talking about is a monopoly of another company. Pranoia and hypocrisy, that's what best describes the people that hardly have any experience with EADM/Origin, at all even.

Difference here is that Steam made a monopoly for itself due to its service being highly adopted. What people are concerned about is EA's business practices (a track record Valve has clean), their history, and of course the quality of the service right now. I can tell you as someone who has been using EA's services since their various versions of their 'EA Downloader' Origin isn't nearly as good as Steam, nor does it have half the standardisation (e.g. Battlelog being launched through Origin, but using a web browser - convoluted as all hell.). Though yeah, you have a minority of fanboys who throw tantrums.

EA has a very large uphill battle covered in tank traps and mines layed by steam. Steam has had nearly 8 years in the business to perfect and add features, and origin looks like sloppy seconds leftover from your microwave last night. The web-based server browser is also cheesy as hell, but damn...the game itself is incredibly good.
