BG, BG2, NWN, KotOR, ME. (Jade Empire OK. Not excellent, but OK).

The Elder scroll series (of which I own 3) are good, but they do are no measure.

But I guess this is all a matter of opinion...

For some reason all I can read there is Bioware, so whatever it is, Bioware, hands down

I'd go for Bioware on this one. KOTOR was really good but Mass Effect swept me off my feet, unlike any game I've played,with so much drama, making it feel like a Class A Sci Fi Hollywood Movie.

I voted for Bethesda, while I do love Bioware games, I thank Bethesda for releasing a modding tool for their major games.

while Mass Effect is superior rpg than Beth games, it has no replayability value and fun ends at 20th hour while oblivion and fallout 3 so far lasted more than 300 hours each.

Bioware. Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II are some of my favorite games of all time. Mass Effect is also really good. Even though I love Fallout 1&2, Baldur's Gate is just too solid.

I feel as though I'm not really qualified to vote as I missed the baulders gate and KOTOR games. The only bioware game I own is Mass Effect and I loved it but is second to the amount of time and enjoyment I got out of Oblivion, so Beth gets my vote.

Bioware, if only for Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 but I really haven't liked any of their games since they started developing for consoles. Bethesda is a joke as far as RPGs go.

Anyways, even though i accidentally voted for Bethesda becasue i wan't paying attention, i'd say Bioware.

While Morrowind was amazing, Oblivion needed mods to achieve proper greatness, so the modders get the credit in the end, not Bethesda. I didn't really like Fallout 3.

Go back some years and I would have voted for Bioware. But now I voted for Bethesda.

Dunno man, Daggerfall is an incredible game...

I think Bioware is better at making a good story and Bethesda is better at making really fun gameplay from the games I have played from both. This is all IMO of course.

TBH though I do think Bethesda has alot of talent, they just don't need to use it because they have already established themselves as major devs and all their games starting from daggerfall just rolled in the money.

For me, an RPG has to have a good story and good characters, along with good combat and a good world.

We have two completely different wants from RPGs. I'm hoping Dragon Age is a bit of a hybrid between my wants and your wants. Then it'd be almost pefect

When it comes to repettive dungeon design i think that both oblivion on morrowind were similar but fallout 3 had more unique areas.

Latest news about Dragon Age saddens me. $7 DLC on Day 1? And not included in a Collector's Edition? Kind of a low blow by Bioware/EA.the_ChEeSe_mAn2

Oh man...Mass Effect is one of my favorite games of the past few years. But I've played 3 of the 4 Elder Scrolls Games. And Bethesda just made WET, also, which looks great. I give my nod to them.RedNemesis42

I remember hearing all the hype for Mass Effect, bought the game, was really excited... played it, and the thing is really over-rated ...seriously over-rated,

whereas Fallout 3 had a lot of haters even before it was released.... bought the game, played it, ....still playing it till today, one of the most enjoyable, most detailed, expansive game worlds I have ever had the pleasure to explore,

the sence of adventure and immersion is just too brilliant for words, Bethesda knows how to make open world RPGs,

Elder Scrolls, still playing it even today, the longevity in Bethesda's games is unmatched, the exploration factor unmatched,

.

Bottom line .... it has been established that its cool to hate Bethesda, Bioware is brilliant, no question there, but its sad people don't see how much more there is to the worlds Bethesda creates,

sure Bioware has more IPs, but for me: The Elder Scrolls + Fallout 3 alone makes this Bethesda hands down!
