CD Drive clicks when a disk is in. But does not register the disk.

Ok, so as the topic title says my CD Drive clicks when a disk is in, But does not register the disk

Can anyone help me please?

crack the case and check the cable connections...but I'd put money on you having a dead drive on your hands.

I have had this problem before and I cracked the case open and cleaned the eye with a little alcohal and a qtip just dont get it to wet, dirt and stuff get on the eyes and cannot read a disk, if you smoke it is even worse.. maybe this will help

my bros laptop did this with dvds, it was caused by two media players both attempting to read the disc at once

You are the only person on earth that cares about this. The only reason CD's are spelled with a "C" is because their inventors arbitrarily decided that's the way they would spell it. Realistically there's no reason it shouldn't be disk.
