My pc is a museum piece, 512mb, 32mb onboard graphics say no more :?

Anyway until i get around to replacing it i need a small list of potential games that will play.

I have been searching through the old 2000-2003 games but would appreciate your help.

I have played Gothic1&2, i have Nascar 2003 season, i`m going through Half-life2 again now.

What i am looking for is a good playable game with as good graphics as i could manage (anything like half-life2 would be great).Genre not an issue here though i have the best racing game so no need to go there.

Challenge enough for you?! Was eyeing up Deus ex? Help appreciated folks!

Let's see, to name a few, I would say that Deus Ex is a nice starting point. Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast is another great game. Follow that up with Anachronox for a game that has some Final Fantasy type fighting. Then maybe work your way through American McGee's Alice. I personally enjoyed FAKK 2, although it is not for everyone. And for some marathon gaming, you might be able to get away with Morrowind on lower settings.

I think these are a pretty good start, but I have more if you want more suggestions.

The first Ghost Recon, World War III Black Gold (a good strategy game), Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Iron Storm, and Wolfenstein Enemy Territory are all good games in my opinion.

Wolf ET is also a free game. Here is a website with all the downloads you need if it looks to your liking:

Deus Ex will change your life forever. A must play game, perhaps the best game ever created. Open your mind and be immersed by the storyline. Forget about everything you think you knew. Trust no one. Make sure to pick a handful of skills and develop them to master. Otherwise you will be weak on all fronts and never good at anything.

It is a little harder to get into but if you play the tutorial you'll be fine. You can save anywhere also which is great.

You might want to get Diablo 2 and the expansion lord of destruction. It's an action point and click game so not sure if that suits your tastes. Has 3 levels of difficulty which you must complete the one before it to unlock. Also the online servers and their ladders have just been reset.

For MMO's on low sys req's, Guild Wars is pretty descent. It's not very taxing, but if you're worried about any games use the System Requirements Lab. It's on the top of many game pages on Gamespot. If you're having trouble finding it, I know that it's at the top of the Oblivion game page.

kinda curious why not a new pc? Don't need 2k to get a good machine. Some pre-builts are pretty good at just 400 bucks in special.

Yeah, Deus Ex, great choice! Chances are you are going to like it once you get into it. I'd also recommend No One Lives Forever and System Shock 2. Classics!

You could probably play Duke Nukem 3D w/ HRP for some old school fun also

Many thanks for your time and contributions, i have made a note of all your entries :)

I picked Deus ex for starters. As for an earlier comment re:Half-life2 yes it runs (sort of)!

Our pc sucks and needs renewing i know i know, but it takes a back seat when you have a family to run (until my 2 sons are abit older and want games ;) )

Good thing is, once this machine was the top dog and if you can think like that and chase the old games you can still be happy.

Thanks for your help.
