Is it any games or certain games where you can chat and play each other like how World of warcraft had realms? How does it work?

Voip = Voice chat using a microphone. Not that many games support it out of the box but some do. I am sure you know what typing is. Basically all multiplayer games will havetyping or bothfeatures.

There are also third party methods such as teamspeak or ventrilo.Basically you can go on to a voiceserver (companies/providers rent them out) and communicate with people while you play your game.So in all reality you can play any game and use voice over ip [voip]

Only works with your friends though since both parties will need to install the software etc.

In FPS's for example, if the admins of the game server have a vent then in many cases (I'm 99.9999% sure you are aware of this :P) they may give out the ip for public players and so on but generally yes you do have to rely on people you know.I guess it all comes down to what type of game the TC is interested in playing :\

I prefer when games support VOIP natively without the need of 3rd party software and relying on friends. I was shocked that Rainbow Six had no VOIP for a game that requires teamwork. Especially since old games Like CS and UT 2004 supported Voice. All you can do is blame the developers. Games like Fear would have been so much better if you could actually communicate with team mates.

I'm getting really dissapointed with games that don't have VOIP in the game now, seriously CS had it how many years ago now? games like R6V and GRAW2 not having this standard is simply unacceptable when it is based on squad communication.
