I have a Macbook Pro and I'm looking to buy Windows XP just for games (Team Fortress 2 and Left4Dead). Well there is Home Edition and Professional edition and Home edition seems to be the cheaper one. Are there any other editions out there that are cheaper or various other forms of the previously mentioned editions that are cheaper? Any help would be much appreciated.

Now for my second question. Any suggestions on good quality mics that are affordable? I'm looking for a mic that will last and gets the job done. Doesn't need to be anything very high-tech. Thanks!

There's no need for the Pro edition if you're a home user.. it's really more for business networking and stuff. As for a mic, I use this one http://www.amazon.com/Zalman-ZM-MIC1-Headphone-MIC/dp/B000MVMKG4 and it works pretty well. Decently clear and rather inexpensive. Amazon doesn't seem to be selling it right now, but I'm sure you can find that somewhere else.

Just go with the Home Basic edition. That's all you'll need. As for mic, if you don't mind a full headset, this is a good one.

Another option you could go for that would cost you a grand total of $0 would be using the Windows 7 RC. It's free until sometime next year and offers better performance than vista.
