When i turn on my computer, window 7 ultimate, that i built myself the "checking file system on C: The type of the file system is NTFS" message comes up on the black screen before i can log in and the timer goes down to 1 and starts. What causes this and how do i fix/get rid of this. I have been using my computer flawlessly for the past 6 months except for about a week ago when my monitor, 28 inch tv, wouldn't display anything until I took out the gfx card, 4850, and cleaned all of the dust off.

Thanks in advance for any of your help and time.

Let it check it will only do it once if you don't cancel it.. It could also be that it's a bug that keeps scanning your disk then you'll need to "fix" it manually http://support.microsoft.com/kb/831426
