So i'm sort of new to upgrading my pc so i was wondering if somebody could help me choose a good graphics card, i mainly play Team fortress 2 but i have to play on low settings due to the awful graphics card. So could you possibly suggest one that could play Tf2 on max settings that is also near the £300 mark.

Thanks in advance.

what is your motherboard and power supply? gtx 260/280 and 4870 are great choices.

You don't need to spend anywhere near that much to play TF2, you could play with with max settings quite happily with a 4830(£100) or 9800gt(£90). However, if you insist in paying that much, get a GTX 285 (£300-£350) or a 4850X2 (£250). They will play any game max settings w/ AA+AF.

This will max every game, it will play crysis on very high without aa or af at around 17 fps.

This is the best run for your money, I'd get this if I were you. :P

Save a few mark for a powerful PSU also and maybe an high performance cpu cooler ! As, if you have a 'regular pc' it might have regular pieces. Upgrading the video card will max out the psu power and create a lot of heat in the case.

If you're looking to have good performance without spending too much go with a 9800GT.

It's only £87.39 inc VAT at overclockers.co.uk

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-009-ZT&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1009

It will be able to run TF2 with high FPS on all high no prob. It runs Crysis at playable framerates on high (source: http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/gigabyte_9800gt/6.htm).

Just make sure you you can fit a 2-slot video card on your mobo and case. And that you have a PCI Express slot and not AGP.
