Civilization IV is so much better especially with Beyond the Sword.

Agreed. yes, true. it also has working multiplayer, unlike civ3's PTW expansion. :( i can't believe i bought that thing. get civ4 + bts if you can! it's so worth it
civ 4 improves on civ 3 in every conceivable way and gets rid of some annoyances; if you haven't played any of the civ games, you might as well pick up civ 4 complete; it's well worth your money, imo.
i love civ 3's art style way more cause civ 4's wanabe 3d looked terrible :P
but civ 4 is a better or at least easier and more intuitive game. if anything, go get the civ chronicles online if you really want a good deal, you can find it for like 25 bucks. but you'll have to buy the expansions separately. if you just want one, get civ 4 complete (it's just a gold but has beyond the sword with it)
