I haven't personally put time into Beyond Earth, but it's doing way better in the Steam reviews. People don't seem like like Beyond Earth very much at all.

Get Civilization V complete edition and wait for Beyond Earth to get some expansions. Firaxis have really developed a very bad habit of releasing half assed game, so later they can sell basic features as an expansion. They did the same with Civ 5 but took this to a whole new level in Beyond earth.

Civilization 5 complete is maybe the best turn based strategy game ever made. I did play Beyond Earth but its nowhere near as good. I'll never play Beyond Earth again, but Civilization 5 is a sickness of addiction if you are into this type of game.

Only big complaint i can have with Civ 5 is if your playing the largest map size, turn times are very long near the end of the game when you have lots of units and cities... if only it was optimized to use more then 2 threads i think it would be a lot faster.

Beyond Earth feels like an expansion rather then its own game... but if you really liked Civ 5 you probably will sorta like Beyond Earth, but not as much.

I have played both of them, and I have to say that go with Civilization 5 complete edition. Like most people have already said, Beyond Earth feels like a incomplete game. I would wait for it to drop in price or for them to release and expansion for it that truely showcases the games strength.

What he said. Right now Civ V with gods and king and new world expansion is way better. Civ B earth is a good game but is missing alot of content plus there are some design flaws ( that firaxis works on them ) such as the non intuitive UI

Civ 5 is better, the whole concept of beyond earth makes it weaker to me anyway because there is nothing you can relate to history wise, its cool in civ 5 to clash with real historical leaders.
