Civilization IV

Ok, so I'm on my Mac (no comments) and I'm playing CIV4. I'm doing Large World Archipelago and I want to settle other Islands and stuff. Does anyone know how to get a Settler on a boat and bring him elsewhere? If so, please reply.

some of the first boats can transport people, thier discription sais if they can transport people. think its the 3rd or 4th boat that can transport, altho its hard to say specifically which one it is, since you get the boatd dependent on your tech tree, so might get then really early or relatively late.

Once you research Sailing, you can build Galleys which will let you carry Settlers. But they can't go across the ocean, so you need to navigate around coastlines.

If you need to take them across the ocean, you need to research Astronomy, which will let you build a Galleon. You can travel across the ocean in Caravels, but they can't carry Settlers.
