Which one is the best deal? I'm thinking of getting either one. I'm kind of a Civ fan, and I really like the idea of The Sims and have wanted to get it for a while. So which one should I get?

Hmm, both are very addicting games, but I would reccomend Civilization IV. It basically improves on Civilization III in mostly every way, and if you have the money, you could also buy the expansions, Warlords and Beyond the Sword (Coming in July) which improve the game greatly. I would reccomend The Sims 2, but since expansions and mini-expansions are coming out every 6 months are so, it would be better to wait a year or two till EA is done with The Sims 2 and they release The Sims 2: Complete Collection, just like they did with the original Sims.

Civ IV is a game of the year cliber game, as just keeps me playing. The Sims isn't bad, but it didn;t draw me in anywhere near as much as Civ did.

I'm going on vacation and I have school... aw, the heck with school. I can learn all I need to know about history with Civ!!!

I'm probably going to pick up both at some point. They both sound awesome.

It's a bit like asking whats better: freshly brewed coffee, or basketball?

Civ 4 has scored more highly than Sims 2 (Gamerankings) so arguably it's a better game. But I wouldn't recommend that my wife played it. She loves the sims and hates strategy.

If you think you may like both, then you probably will. Buy the cheapest one!
