I started Civilization IV and I love it. I have a question though. Lets say I have a few groups of archers and settlers and what not, it seems that when I move one cluster, the camera moves to another cluster and then they move. I cannot move just one group time and time again all in a row. I am new to these type of games....is this how it is supposed to work or am I doing something wrong?

-Thanks

They're called Turn Based strategy games. You can only move most units at the max 3 times, and then other nations move their units until it's your turn again.

Alright, its just because I could move one type of person (spearman) once, then in the same turn it made me move other spearman or archers etc.

-Thanks

Press F key for fortify, if you don't want the turn to remind you that you can move them. Such as, for guarding cities. (you get a defense bonus for F). Or use S (no defense bonus for S, but they will stay in place until a unit comes near them, then the next turn they return to active status.) There is also a waypoint type command that will set a destination point for a unit. In that you set a location to where you want them to go, then they automatically go there within your turns and when they reach the destination, it goes back to the way it was before. But, I forgotten the key command for that one. It's a dangerous command, though, because it's possible that they will run into an enemy unit along the way and get themselves killed. Also, roads and later railroad tracks will allow you to move more spaces in a single turn....
