There are issues with the OS, not the hardware itself. You can usually get them to work, even in Vista, using some built in Windows 98 compaitibility modes and such. I'm not sure about Diablo, but Half Life shouldn't be a problem.
However, I tried everything under the sun to get my old copy of Red Alert running on my new machine with XP, and I couldn't get it to work. I think eventually, some of these games will become lost without some emulation or other help.
Yeah. I experienced that. I tried playing an old game from 1999, it would sometimes work, but other times it would be glitched. I guess my rig was just too awesome for the poor game...heh, jk.There can be issues with both the OS and hardware, just as some current games also don't like certain hardware combinations. Also, most games can adapt to the speed of current hardware, but not always (and end up being unplayable because they run too fast).
