I clean my PC once in a great while by vaccuming the vents but the fans seem to have accumulated alot of dust so I was just wondering if I need to be worried about this. I was thinking about taking it in and getting it cleaned since I have no place to do it here. Is this necessary?chester706If there is a LOT of dust it can kill your fans, best keep it semi-clean....i recommend if their is that much just using a hoover. Just remember not to let the hoover spin your fans,,,the speed at which they would spin would damage them so hold them still.
Depending on how messy it is, you may see some noticeable performance gains once everything is cleaned out. Dust can clog (and slow down) fans as well as trap heat in your case, all of which reduces performance. Two things though. First of all, I would not recommend using a vacuum to clean out your case. The suction can damage parts, and plus vacuum attachments tend to have some static charge to them (since you're always rubbing them on carpets and furniture and such). Secondly, do not go and get it cleaned. Just go to an office supply store and buy a couple cans of compressed air. Use those to clean out all the dust, it should work like a charm.theragu40I dont vaccum inside the case I just vaccum the vents on a light speed and then I swab it with e-wipes. I may try that compressed air. Seems like a better idea. Will I need to take apart my case? Cauase I dont really have any room to lay it out anywhere. Also if it is bad I will stop vaccuming the vents.
I have used them before and found them to be ****! They always squirt out this liquid which iam pretty sure isnt good for your components.I would suggest using sterilized air(can get in a can) for cleaning dust etc from ya machine... As for me, I use and industrial compressor lol, literally looks like new after a seconds.

It's just liquid CO2, which will evaporate almost immediately. Just make sure you hold the can upright and don't spray continuously. Just spurts of spray should do the trick. If you feel the can getting really cold, then stop for a few and then continue.
There's no need to take your computer in to get it cleaned. Just open part of your PC so your parts are showing and clean it out real quick. It doesn't take long and it shouldn't be a dangerous task.
That sounds good. So how should I spray this condensed air? In bursts until it looks satisfactory? Also are there any parts that are off limits or that I shouldnt spray. Thank you. chester706
Just don't get too close to the parts to where they're liable to break or something. The cans can have a good amount of force. Just use common sense and you should be fine.
