cod4....

Am I right in thinking that the PC version of COD4 does NOT have prestige mode?

If not, why not? Do you think it should?

can't find it anywhere, very strange, I hit 55 yesterday

read somewhere it's available at lvl 65 but 55 is maxed

I've seen dog tags in front of some players names, not sure if this are ones in prestige mode or not?

Yeap there is no prestige mode. I'm pretty sure it has somethign to do with stats being managed client side so people could just edit their cod4 files to get themt o max prestige mode so it would be pretty pointless. I do wish they had it though. Cod4 is now pointless after getting to lvl 55 and getting all the award things and gold weapons. Even if they do release new maps with it there is little incentive to play anymore.

Exactly! People are just becoming zombies now, only playing to get small pointless awards that mean nothing at all. What ever happened to playing the game because it was fun? I play the PS3 version, but when I got to level 55, I never did prestige mode because there is no point to it. I just think it shows how much free time you have on your hands and thats it. I just sit back and laugh at people who are in their 5th prestige, wondering how many hours they logged in. I've put a decent amount of time into the game, but nothing compared to some of these people with no lives. Oh well, I just play in my little free time because it is fun...not because of some virtual images on my screen that will mean nothing a year from now.

how bout for fun. I personally like it this way so when I max out I can stay there and then play mods

i agree. prestige has no point to it whatsoever. same with xbl gamerscore. im lvl 2 prestige, i only did it once b/c a friend wanted me to do it with him. just do what the game was intended for, to play and have fun, then after time goes by and you get bored of it or another game comes out, stop playing it. or continue to play. i love CoD 4 but i know that time will come just like every other game and i wont play it that much. the only way it should reward you is by you killing other mofo's. thats good enough for me.
