Before you say anything, I've done everything I could, still won't work.
Here's my problem. When I try installing the 1.3 patch, I get this message:
"Setup has detected that you have a digitally distributed version of Call of Duty(R) 4 - Modern Warfare(TM) installed. Please refer to your original vendor for a patch combatible with your version of the game."
I was reading about it and everyone said it's cause of Direct 2 Drive. BUT I never even downloaded the game... I bought it at Future Shop. I have the disks and everything.
Does anybody know how I can get this patch? I've been trying all day. Installing and extracting.
Now that's just ****ing wierd, maybe you could try backing up your save files and your multiplayer profile (so you don't loose that hard earned XP), and then re-install the game, and try the patch again.
wow, that's odd, where did you download the 1.3 patch? or Patches?
Try www.fileshack.com they are very reliable! I hate fileplanet and things like that, if the fileshack patch won't work, then did you try infinitywards main site? or like, www.charlieoscardelta.com (don't know if it's still up, but that's the site advertised on CoD4.)?
If those don't work, then I have no idea what to tell you. I'm fresh out!
I've tried every site possible, including all the ones you listed. And nothing...It's sooo weird.

I can't believe no one has thought about and posted this yet but have you actually tried to contact InfinityWard, check the official websites forums, get in touch with customer support???
They have all those contact details in the manual for a reason, use them. It will be your best bet in fixing this problem mate.
I believe that you need the digital 1.3patch that can be found on filefront though - since you mentioned that you have the digital version of the game. but don't take my word for it though, i do not play COD4 but i did come across 2 different versions of the 1.3 patch. One of which mentions "digital" in its name :)
EDIT: oh sorry, i went over to filefront but the file seems to be gone you could try google-ing it though.
I've downloaded the Digital patch put it still don't work, gives me some dss32.dll file cannot be found... I've tried installing that too, also didn't work...

You tried asking Customer Support or any of the official channels (forums, IW support on their website etc)???
If not then do it and try to see if they can help because if they cant then its Game Over man!
Before I do that, my bro is trying to install it on his comp and see if the patch work, if it doesn't, then it has to be the disk. And if it does....:evil:
