So I had to do a force quit on CoD4 like an hour ago. I went to go back into SP to play and I got this error message:

"It appears that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare did not quit properly the last time it ran.
Do you want to run the game in safe mode?

This is recommended for most people.
It will change your system settings but not your controls."

I tried the "yes" option....nothing happened. I went back in again and tried the "no" option....game still wouldn't open.

I restarted my computer (more than once)....still got the error.

I REINSTALLED the game....STILL got the error message.

No matter what I do I can't get past the error message, and therefore can't play at all....any suggestions?

what does your mouse and speakers have to do with it?

If you actually bought the game, then you should be able to return it and get a new one. Otherwise there is a bug in the game, or your processor reacted awkwardly towards it. AMD is not a good platform anyways.

Install the latest DirectX and make sure xfire isn't running when you launch the game or change settings (if you have it).
