CoD4 MP after 1.4 installed Issue!!! Please help!

Hi All

I have an issue, my CoD4 locks up and sound loops when I join a server online I have to hard reset. I've only had this problem since I updated to 1.4 it never crashed on me once before this. I can create a server and play it won't crash, I can play single player also won't crash. I have updated all my drivers video, sound, chipset, cpu. I've also updated Punkbusta. I have read the faults on using the Realtek sound card, I have already set it on stereo mix. I have run a repair on my windows as well. I heard that a mic must be plugged in mine is always in.

Please I need Help!!!

I'm running XP sp2, AMD AM2 6000+, Raidmax 630W PSU, 2GB RAM DDRII, 250GB HDD, Nvidia 8800GT.

I have 50GB free on my HDD and my virtual memory is set to 4GB

Anything running in the background that might do it, like x-fire or voice com program, antivirus. i.m.?

Might be just the patch doing it, my mouse (wireless optical) locked up on certain servers and I had to reboot to fix it as well, haven't played since.
